Sony is set to launch a new firmware beta for the PS5 on Thursday, July 25th. This update introduces three notable features: audio customization, improved Remote Play settings, and an "adaptive" charging mode for controllers.

One of the highlights is the improved 3D audio functionality. Users with headphones or earbuds will now have the ability to personalize their audio experience. The new setup process in the console's sound settings allows users to create custom audio profiles, adjusting individual elements to suit personal preferences.

The update also includes a simple but useful improvement for Remote Play. Users can now choose who can connect to their PS5 via Remote Play, making it easier to manage access for friends and family.

Lastly, the firmware beta introduces an adaptive controller charging feature, which requires the new 'slim' PS5 model. This feature which is accessible in the power-saving settings, allows controllers to charge in rest mode based on their current battery level.

While none of these features are game changing, they highlight Sony's ongoing efforts to improve the PS5 user experience with practical and customizable options.
