Sony has expanded its ZV series with the introduction of the ZV-E10 II, a compact mirrorless camera designed specifically for vloggers and content creators. The Sony ZV-E10 II is equipped with a 26MP APS-C image sensor and is capable of recording 4K video at up to 60 frames per second in 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra. For those needing higher frame rates, the camera can capture Full HD video at up to 120 frames per second. There's also a new Cinematic Vlog mode which allows users to capture footage with a built-in cinematic look.

The ZV-E10 II weighs in at 10.4 ounces and measures 4.48 x 2.63 x 2.12 inches. It uses the same Z battery as the ZV-E1, which Sony claims provides a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes.

The ZV-E10 II features a 26MP Exmor R image sensor. It is powered by the BIONZ XR image processing engine, which was first introduced with the a7S III in 2020. This processor offers improved performance, including reduced rolling shutter effects due to faster read-out speeds.

Video recording capabilities are a highlight of the ZV-E10 II. The camera oversamples 4K footage from a 5.6K image sensor, offering up to 60 frames per second in 4:2:2 10-bit. In Full HD mode, it can record at 120 frames per second. Multiple recording formats are supported, including XAVC S, XAVC HS, and XAVC S-I, with options for 10-bit or 8-bit color depth and H.264 or H.265 compression.

The ZV-E10 II is designed with a 3-capsule microphone that allows for directional audio control, choosing between front, rear, or omni-directional settings. While it lacks an electronic viewfinder (EVF), it features a 3.0-inch vari-angle touchscreen LCD. The new Still/Movie/S&Q switch replaces the previous toggle button, allowing for quicker mode changes.

Autofocus capabilities include 759 AF points covering 94% of the image sensor, with the ability to recognize and track human and animal faces and eyes. Though the ZV-E10 II does not include in-body image stabilization (IBIS), it offers Digital Image Stabilization (Active Stabilization), which crops the image by around 1.4x or 1.5x depending on the frame rate and resolution. The camera also includes popular picture profiles such as S-Cinetone and S-Log3, along with customizable "look" and "mood" settings similar to those on the ZV-E1. Users can import their own LUTs for previewing images directly on the camera.

For quick content creation, the ZV-E10 II offers ten built-in image presets, including black-and-white, Sepia, Film, and Vivid. The Cinematic Vlog setting applies 2.35:1 cinemascope black bars to footage shot in 16:9, giving it a cinematic aspect ratio.

Connectivity options include a 3.5mm microphone input, a 3.5mm headphone output, a micro-HDMI port, and a 5Gbps USB-C port that supports 4K30P and 1080P60 streaming. The camera also features built-in 5GHz Wi-Fi for live streaming via RTMP/RTMPS/SRT protocols and can connect to Sony’s Creators App for remote control and media transfer.

The Sony ZV-E10 II is now available for preorder, with shipments expected to start by the end of the month. The camera body is priced at $999, while a kit including the new 16-50mm zoom lens is available for $1,098.
