SVS has just officially announced its new flagship speaker series, the SVS Ultra Evolution. This lineup features seven models that introduce significant improvements in driver technology, cabinet design, and material use, aiming to enhance audio performance from the Ohio-based company.

One key aspect of the series is its time-aligned cabinet design, where the front baffle's curve ensures that sounds from the tweeter and drivers reach the listener simultaneously, improving the soundstage's clarity and precision.

For the tower speakers, midrange drivers and woofers positioned above and below the tweeter allow for seamless crossover blending to create an idealized “point-source” where sound flows from a single point in front of the speaker to optimize dispersion characteristics.

Another significant update includes a diamond-coated aluminum dome tweeter, introduced by SVS for the first time. This tweeter, enhanced with a layer of diamond carbon via vapor deposition technology, provides a sturdier structure and better acoustic performance, extending the high-frequency response without distortion. It also pushes low frequency extension of the tweeter deeper for more seamless blending with the midrange.

The Ultra Evolution speakers also feature a unique tweeter diffuser with a semi-random pattern inspired by organic cell structures, chosen for its effective off-axis response and sound dispersion.

The floorstanding models of the Ultra Evolution series feature a unique woofer design inspired by SVS's 3000 Micro Subwoofer. This configuration, which places dual opposing active woofers in a force-balanced array, helps to produce deep, impactful bass while minimizing room resonances.

Materials and construction have been carefully considered across the Ultra Evolution range. For example, the midrange drivers and woofers utilize glass fiber composite cones for their favorable stiffness-to-mass ratio, aiding in dynamic and accurate sound reproduction. The speakers also incorporate precision-cast aluminum-alloy baskets and acoustically tuned internal chambers to further refine the audio output.

The speakers are designed with chamfered front baffles to lessen edge diffraction and include high-quality crossover components to maintain sound quality. Compatibility and integration with existing SVS models have been maintained, with the Ultra Evolution series designed to complement the SVS Prime and original Ultra models. This allows users to seamlessly mix and match components within their audio setups.
