Kaleidescape has announced the release of its latest movie player, the Strato V. This next-generation device delivers 4K Dolby Vision playback with lossless audio, and is designed to function both as a standalone unit and as part of a larger Kaleidescape system.

The Strato V is equipped with a solid-state drive capable of storing approximately 10 4K movies. Its streamlined interface is optimized for navigating smaller movie libraries. The device supports high-speed movie downloads, capable of downloading a full 4K movie in as little as 10 minutes over Gigabit Ethernet. Movies are automatically considered for deletion 48 hours post-playback to free up storage space.

For users requiring more extensive storage, the Strato V can be integrated with Terra Prime movie servers. This integration restores the device's interface to the full-featured Kaleidescape experience. The modularity of the system allows for scalability, as multiple Strato V players can be grouped with one or more Terra servers.

The Strato V incorporates new electronics and grounding topology, alongside lossless player-side decode for high-bitrate audio codecs. According to Kaleidescape, every signal pathway has been upgraded to improve quality and reliability. The player is encased in a modern black anodized aluminum and glass chassis.

Users of the Strato V gain access to the Kaleidescape movie store, which is the only digital movie provider offering lossless audio and full reference video quality. The store features thousands of 4K and HD titles, including movies, TV series, and concerts, with over one hundred titles available in Dolby Vision. The content also supports lossless multichannel and object-based audio formats, such as Dolby Atmos and DTS

The Strato V is positioned alongside the Strato C movie player. The Strato V is ideal for new customers or those with Dolby Vision-compatible displays. The Strato V is priced at $3,995.
