Hisense is set to introduce the CanvasTV, a new TV made with a matte display primarily for showcasing artwork and photographs which blends right into home decor when not in use. This concept is reminiscent of Samsung's The Frame, but the Hisense model comes at a more accessible price point.

Offered in 55-inch and 65-inch models, the CanvasTV is priced at $999 and $1,299. In contrast, Samsung's The Frame is priced at $1,499 for the 55-inch and $1,999 for the 65-inch model. Both TVs boast a 4K QLED display with anti-glare properties. However, the CanvasTV also features a high 144Hz refresh rate, an RGB sensor that adjusts to ambient lighting, and a 2.0.2 multi-channel surround sound system.

The device is preloaded with a variety of artworks including abstract, modern, and Renaissance styles, and allows users to toggle between art displays and personal photos with an "Art Mode" button on the remote. It also includes a motion sensor that detects room activity, powering down automatically when no one is present.

Hisense's package includes a teak frame with the option to customize the look with interchangeable white or walnut frames sold separately. The CanvasTV is expected to hit the market this summer.
