Apple has just rolled out version 2.0 of its Apple Sports app, bringing with it a range of improvements. The most significant addition is the introduction of Live Activities, a feature that allows users to track live sports scores directly on their iPhone Lock Screen. This update follows the removal of Live Activities for sports from the TV app in iOS 18, shifting the focus entirely to the dedicated Sports app.

With this new version of the Apple Sports app and the latest software updates installed, users can now follow their favorite teams in real-time without needing to unlock their phone. Apple Watch users will also benefit from Live Activities, as scores can now appear in the Smart Stack with watchOS 11, making it even easier to stay updated.

Another improvement in the 2.0 update is the revamped navigation system. Previously, accessing different sports or features required navigating to an entirely new screen. Now, the updated menu system in the top-right corner is a streamlined dropdown, making it much quicker to switch between sports and access various options.

Launched earlier this year, the Apple Sports app is designed to help users track live sports scores, but until now, it lacked support for the Live Activities feature. With this latest update, the app has become a more powerful tool for sports fans, offering seamless score tracking on both iPhone and Apple Watch.
