Apple's Beats is unveiling an upgrade to its best-selling line of headphones with the introduction of Beats Solo 4. These on-ear headphones have been redesigned to offer improved performance and comfort, along with extended battery life surpassing that of its predecessors.

The Beats Solo 4 boasts newly designed 40 mm transducers that are custom-tuned to enhance musical clarity and reduce distortion. For Apple device users, the headphones include support for Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking. Enhancements also extend to call quality and voice assistant interactions, thanks to new digital beam-forming microphones and a new noise-learning algorithm.

Connectivity options for the Beats Solo 4 are versatile, supporting Bluetooth, USB-C, and a traditional 3.5mm jack. Wireless use of the Beats Solo 4 allows for up to 50 hours of playback—10 hours more than the previous model—or up to 36 hours of call time on a single charge. The headphones also feature a Fast Fuel option, providing up to five hours of playback with just a 10-minute charge. While Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is not included, the headphones do offer effective passive noise isolation based on their on-ear design.

The integration of the Beats chip enables seamless pairing and functionality across both iOS and Android devices. This includes support for device location services like Apple's Find My and Android's Find My Device, as well as exclusive features for iOS users such as "Hey Siri" voice activation and Audio Sharing. The iconic 'b' button on the ear cups is customizable for controlling music, calls, and voice assistant commands, with separate volume controls positioned around the button.

The headphones weigh only 217 grams and feature UltraPlush ear cushions, infinite-rotation gimbals for precise adjustment, and a flex-grip headband with customizable sliders. The Beats Solo 4 is available in Matte Black, Slate Blue, and Cloud Pink, and can be ordered from apple.com for $199.99, with shipping set to begin on May 2.
