Kaleidescape & Mercury Studios

Kaleidescape has announced a new collaboration with Mercury Studios to bring the biggest names in music to the big screen. This partnership aims to expand Kaleidescape's content library with concert films, offering a new experience for moviegoers.

“Kaleidescape is all about the experience, and this collaboration with Mercury Studios enables us to expand our library content offering with standout movie concert performances,” said Priscilla Morgan, COO of Kaleidescape. “We have seen the box-office success of movie concert re-releases, and the Kaleidescape platform gives exhibition a turnkey solution to deliver more movie concerts to their customers.”

Kaleidescape offers an alternative method for securely delivering library releases to cinemas. The platform is known for providing high-quality content with the convenience of on-demand playback. This makes it easier for exhibitors to showcase a wide variety of films, including concert movies, with exceptional audio and video quality.

“Mercury Studios is about bringing our exciting films to audiences who love music and want to see their favorite musicians up close and larger than life,” said Rob Gill, SVP of Global Operations at Mercury Studios. “Our catalog features documentaries and performances by incredible artists, including Peter Gabriel, Ella Fitzgerald, INXS, and Syd Barrett. This collaboration with Kaleidescape will bring audiences spectacular performances with the best sound and image quality.”

The Kaleidescape system integrates seamlessly into existing movie complexes, using the same projectors and audio systems already installed. It allows for secure delivery of library releases with lossless audio and reference-quality video. Exhibitors can easily program additional screenings, movie marathons, or special events, offering moviegoers the opportunity to enjoy their favorite movies and concert films in a cinema setting.

Exhibitors such as Alamo Drafthouse, B&B Theatres, Brenden Theatres, Cinema West, Classic Cinemas, Epic Theatres, Megaplex Theatres, and Star Cinema Grill are currently piloting the Kaleidescape platform.

This collaboration marks a significant step in bringing high-quality music concert films to cinema audiences and complements the movie-going experience with exceptional sound and image quality.
